Why I made this inburgering course.

I grew up with Dutch, so the language was never the hard part for me. For my Iranian family it was. I sat at the kitchen table with them, evening after evening, getting them ready for the inburgeringsexamen. That is where I saw, up close, where it goes wrong.

The exam itself is very trainable. It follows a set shape: the same parts, the same question types, every sitting. But the course my family paid for taught general Dutch. Conversation, grammar, a bit of everything. The exam asks for something else. Specific, well-defined tasks in a fixed format. Those lessons barely touched them.

So at that table we did the opposite. We left out everything the exam does not ask for. We drilled the exact tasks that matter, again and again, until they stopped making mistakes. It worked, really well. And yet it felt wrong that you needed someone like me beside you to get there.

That is why I built Inburgeringscursus. Not a language school, and not another stack of free PDFs to work through alone. The exact parts the exam tests, in plain steps, with a clear read on when you are ready. So anyone can do at home what we did at that table.
