What the A2 route actually is.
A2 sits at CEFR level A2: everyday language in concrete, familiar situations, short texts, and the basics of grammar. It was the standard level under the old law (Wet inburgering 2013), and its exam and diploma stay valid.
Under the current law (Wet inburgering 2021) the standard is B1, but A2 is where you can arrive from the B1-route: if B1 turns out not to be reachable after at least 600 hours of coursework, the gemeente can let you finish at A2 instead. Either way, the exam you take is the A2 inburgeringsexamen.
The exam format never changes. The same five parts, the same kinds of tasks, every time. That is the good news: a test this predictable is one you can prepare for precisely. That is what this course is built to do.

Why I made this inburgering course.
I am Dutch, so I never had to do the inburgering myself. My Iranian family did. I helped them prepare, and saw where it goes wrong.
The exam itself is very trainable. It has a fixed shape and asks for specific, well-defined tasks. But the course they paid for taught general Dutch, conversation and grammar, while the exam asked for something else.

A2 inburgeringsexamen, answered honestly.
Each part costs 50 euro. All five parts together, including KNM, come to 250 euro. If you hold an asylum residence permit, your first two attempts per part are free. You book the official exam through DUO, separately from this course.
It depends on your law and route. Under the old law (Wet inburgering 2013) A2 was the standard. Under the current law (2021) the standard is B1, and A2 is a fall-back the gemeente can allow on the B1-route after at least 600 hours. Check which law and route DUO put you on, in your PIP or Mijn Inburgering.
A2 is the everyday-life level: the old-law standard and the B1-route fall-back. B1 is a higher level, with longer texts and less time per part. They are different exams. This page is about A2.

It depends on where your Dutch starts. Honestly, vocabulary is usually what holds you back, not test tricks. The format is fixed, so steady practice on the real tasks is what moves you forward. That is what the course is built around.
