Task 1 of 12

Schrijf één zin waarin je je collega bedankt voor zijn hulp.

Task 2 of 12
De lift in je kantoorgebouw is stuk. Je laat het je collega's weten.
Schrijf één zin die begint met "Daarom" en die een gevolg beschrijft van de kapotte lift.

Task 3 of 12
Je wilt je examen een week uitstellen. Je mailt de examencommissie.
Maak de zin af met een reden. Gebruik het woord "omdat". "Ik wil mijn examen graag uitstellen, ..."

At B1 the writing part runs through the Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I. You type your answers on a computer. The tasks ask you to fill in a form, finish a text, and write short pieces such as a reply or an email. You have 100 minutes. Two assessors read your work, so the part is scored on what you write rather than on a single right answer. The result is a skill score out of 500.
Because there is no single correct answer, the skill to train is producing clear, correct Dutch that fits the task and stays on topic. Practise typing full answers under time rather than drafting on paper. Reread for the small mistakes that cost points. Do one full practice exam, see where you lost marks, then write more answers at that level.

Two trained assessors read your work independently, each using the same fixed assessment framework, and their marks are combined. The result is a vaardigheidsscore, a skill score, where a pass is 500. It is not a percentage, and the raw points needed to reach 500 differ per exam. The practice exam shows where you lost marks so you know what to tighten up.
Not on one thing, but on several aspects at once. The assessors check whether you did what the task asked and covered every point. They also weigh your grammar, your spelling, whether the text has a clear line, and your word use. Because there is no single correct answer, one weak aspect pulls the whole part down, so a small run of avoidable mistakes quietly costs you points.

The tasks are longer and typed on a computer, two assessors mark them, and the result is a skill score where 500 is a pass rather than a raw score out of a total.
