Two programmes. Which one is yours?
Both programmes test the same four skills. The level and the goal are what differ. If you are not sure, your study or your employer usually sets the level you need.
Programma I
Niveau B1
For studying or working at mbo 3 or mbo 4 level.

What the Staatsexamen NT2 actually is.
The Staatsexamen NT2 is the official exam for Dutch as a second language, set by the CvTE and taken at DUO. It is the exam for people who want to study or work in Dutch, and it is also the exam you sit on the B1-route of inburgering.
There are two programmes. Programma I is at level B1, aimed at mbo 3 and mbo 4. Programma II is at level B2, aimed at hbo and university. Both have the same four parts, reading, listening, writing and speaking, each booked and taken separately at DUO.

Why I made this NT2 course.
I am Dutch, so I never had to prove my Dutch in an exam. My Iranian family did. I helped them prepare, and saw where it goes wrong.
Most courses teach general Dutch: conversation, grammar, a bit of everything. The Staatsexamen NT2 asks for something narrower: a fixed set of well-defined tasks. That makes it very trainable, if you train the right things.

Staatsexamen NT2, the honest answers.
Programma I is at language level B1, for studying or working at mbo 3-4. Programma II is at level B2, for hbo or university. They test the same four skills, but Programma II has harder texts, faster audio and a long spoken argument that B1 does not have.
It depends on your goal. If you are heading to mbo 3-4, you need Programma I (B1). For hbo or university, you need Programma II (B2). Your school or employer usually states the level they require, so check that first.
Partly. The B1-route of inburgering is examined through the Staatsexamen NT2 Programma I, so that is the same exam. The A2 inburgeringsexamen is a separate, lower-level exam. So NT2 is for B1 and B2, whether you take it to inburgeren or to study and work.
Each of the four parts costs 50 euro, so a full programme is 200 euro. You book it through DUO. You can take the parts on different dates and only retake the ones you have not passed yet.
